NAWBO Richmond Board of Directors

The NAWBO Richmond Board of Directors seeks nominees to serve on the NAWBO Richmond Board of Directors and Committees.

  • Officers serve a one year term; may be elected more than one term
  • Directors serve a one year term; may be elected to more than one term
  • Eligible board members are active NAWBO members and sponsors
  • Responsibilities include participating in monthly board of directors meetings, monthly programs and events and supporting membership and community outreach efforts


NAWBO Richmond Chapter Board of Directors

President - The president shall serve as a director and lead trustee and presiding officer of the board of directors in addition to serving as an ex officio member of all committees.

President-elect - The president-elect shall serve as a director, oversee special projects and duties as assigned by the president and serve as the president should the office of the president become vacant.

Immediate Past President - The immediate past president shall serve as a director; perform such other functions as agreed to by the president; and serve as chair of the nominating committee.

Secretary/Treasurer - The secretary/treasurer shall serve as a director; ensure that all actions of the board of directors are accurately recorded in minutes of each board meeting; oversee the financial activities and records of the chapter; chair the Finance Committee; provide monthly financial statements to the board of directors; and ensure that compliance with state and federal requirements.

Community Outreach Co-Chairs- The community outreach co-chairs will work closely with our NAWBO Richmond Chapter and Foundation to identify and work with our corporate and not-for-profit partners to increase our visibility and impact across the Greater Richmond region. 

Governance - The governance representative shall serve as a director and will assure compliance of the board of directors.

Membership Co-Chairs - The membership co-chairs shall serve as directors; they will focus on membership recruitment and retention respectfully by recruiting and welcoming our new members and by working with our current members to provide continued value of our NAWBO membership.

Marketing Co-Chairs - The marketing co-chairs shall serve as directors; they will work to develop and implement branding and marketing strategies for NAWBO Richmond.

Program Co-Chairs - The program co-chairs shall serve as directors; they will focus on the planning and preparation of all our monthly programs to ensure their education and networking value to all of our NAWBO members.

Public Policy Co-Chairs - The public policy co-chairs shall serve as directors; they will focus their efforts on monitoring regulations and policy in conjunction with national and state partners to keep all of our members informed on policies impacting women business owners.

At-Large - The At-Large member of the board of directors will serve as a director; this community member will provide critical perspective, support and guidance to the NAWBO Richmond to support is mission and vision.
