Kate attended college at Boston University where she received her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in psychology, and was invited to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She then attended the University of Virginia where she received her Masters of Education in clinical and school psychology as well as her Doctorate in clinical psychology. She completed her clinical internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia and held a post-doctoral position within the Virginia Department of Corrections. Kate brings a holistic approach to her work. She offers a unique, conversational style of gathering pertinent information and makes the entire process feel like lunch with your best friend.

René brings over 25 years of experience in the business world. She graduated with magna cum laude honors and a BA from Virginia Wesleyan. René held the position of Corporate Vice President with a company in Norfolk that was a supplier to the US Navy. René has also held the position of General Manager for other companies, ranging from the maritime industry to the wholesale industry. She has experience in the fields of logistics, supply chain, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, international and domestic marketing and retail distribution. René is currently the President, founder and owner of RH Business Solutions, LLC, a business advisory firm located in central Virginia. RH Business Solutions specializes in working with small and medium sized businesses that don’t have the luxury of a Board of Directors. René and her team can create a business plan, do a detailed business assessment to determine the strengths and weaknesses of each company, design a customized action plan and then meet with the business owner on a regular basis to assist in implementing the plans until positive results are realized.

She was honored in 2011 with the Richmond YWCA Outstanding Woman Award for Law & Government, with the 2011 “Hats Off to Women Award” by the ABWA Cavalier Chapter, in 2011 as one of the Top Fifty “Super Lawyers” in Virginia and in 2010 & 2011 as one of the 25 top women “Super Lawyers” in Virginia by Richmond magazine. Colleen’s law practice focuses on family building and re-building the lives of others via her adoption and surrogacy law practice and her personal injury and employment law practice.

She is a past president of the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association and the Virginia’s chapter of the Legal Marketing Association. Carole received her B.A. from the University of Richmond and her J.D. from the University of Virginia.

Elaine is a Doctor of Chiropractic and opened opened Health Link Family Chiropractic: A Creating Wellness Center in 1998 in Mechanicsville. She is a graduate from Ohio University and New York Chiropractic College. In addition to owning a state of the art, wellness based chiropractic center, she is also a public speaker, triathlete, wife, and mother of 2 children. Her passion and love for helping others has inspired people to become better educated about how to achieve higher levels of health and wellness. Her energy, enthusiasm and humor help to share her message of hope and healing in a time when people are looking for answers. The practice offers services including chiropractic, life and wellness coaching, nutritional testing, massage, acupuncture, and yoga classes. Elaine’s intention for Health Link is to be a tremendous resource for the community by offering a variety of workshops and screenings throughout the year.

Ann earned her PhD from The University of Texas at Austin and her coaching certification through the Newfield Network. Her work focuses on developing leaders and teams to bring their best to work and life every day. Anne is a co-create of the Extraordinary Women Leaders Program at the Center for Corporate Education at VCU an Bounce’s Leaders as Learners leadership development program.

Cara served as the Chair for the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce’s Extraordinary Women’s Committee and has been an active Board Member of the National Association of Women Business Owners in recent years. In May 2011, Cara was honored as one of “Virginia’s Most Influential Women” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Pauline “Polly” Elmore runs a boutique PR shop, specializing in publicity and media relations. In 1998, Polly formed PR Works, LLC, in Northern, Virginia, where she developed an extensive client list and relationships amont the Washington, D.C. media. Since her move back to Richmond in July 2011, Polly continues to work with small to medium-sized businesses and associations to help them build their public image in both print and online media. Her expertise also includes finding and helping clients apply for awards.

Angie was hired at Accent upon college graduation. She quickly became a successful Recruiter, managing the office for seven years before joining the corporate world in outside sales, responsible for a multi-state territory. For over ten years, she consistently proved her abilities by winning President’s Club and Sales Rep of the Year awards. She has a brag book to prove her successes and knows what it takes firsthand to be a top producer! Ms. Furbee returned to Accent as Owner and President in 2002.

Wendy is a Richmond native, and has managed projects in Virginia for 23 years. She earned a BS in Housing, Interior Design and Resource Management from Virginia Tech. Wendy is a member of the Richmond chapter of NAWBO, and serves on the board of directors at the North Richmond YMCA. In her free time Wendy enjoys traveling, tennis, and community service. She still wants to enjoy golf, but that remains a distant goal.
