The Marketing Committee supports the Board and Committees to increase the visibility of NAWBO and to enhance and strengthen the NAWBO image by providing a complete and consistent message (via electronic and print communications) to the public and NAWBO members. In addition, the Committee oversees the Women of Excellence marketing.  

As a member of NAWBO Marketing  Committee you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist with marketing and social media for all Chapter and Foundation Events
  • Coordinate the promotion of Member & Sponsor Spotlights
  • Work with NAWBO Foundation on the Women of Excellence Event
  • Assist with Press Releases and Media Relations
  • Assist with Sponsorship Program
  • Coordinate with NAWBO National for branded materials and programs

The mission of the Membership Committee is to promote, increase and retain membership. The committee has a membership drive each spring, maintains a membership data base, and surveys the membership for interests, needs, and strengths. 

As a member of Membership Committee you will have the opportunity to:

  • Review of member roster on monthly basis, contact renewals/expiration
  • Assist with Sponsorship Program
  • Coordinate with PR on identifying members who have been recognized
  • Membership Social:  Work with Programs Director
  • Assist membership to Assign New Member Mentors
  • Assist at all Event Registrations

The Program Committee has the responsibility of assuring that the membership has access to programs, events and services which will educate and enhance their skills as business owners.  

As a member of NAWBO Programs Committee you will have the opportunity to:

  • Identify program topics and educational opportunities for members
  • Secure speakers, moderators and panelists
  • Assist with venue selection
  • Assist with Sponsorship program

Public Policy


The Public Policy Committee is where  business agenda begins. As a committee member, you are able to help shape the pro-business agenda while protecting the interests of the business community.  

As a member of NAWBO Public Policy Committee you will have the opportunity to:  

  • Actively advocate for and with the Public Policy Council to address issues, both national and statewide, that interest and concern women business owners. 

  • Work with legislators and administrations on issues concerning health care insurance, procurement, taxation, social security, education, workforce, and technology.

The Women of Excellence Committee works directly under the Foundation Board on the Annual Women of Excellence Awards Dinner.  The Woman of Excellence Awards Dinner has become an annual tradition in Richmond, celebrating the accomplishments of exceptional women entrepreneurs and community leaders from our local community with an evening of networking and inspiration.
